Pricing & billing — deep FAQ

All the questions hosts ask before paying. Plain answers, no fine print.

Do I need a credit card to start the trial? +
No. The 14-day Host trial starts as soon as you sign up — no card required, no auto-charge. We don't ask for billing details until you actively choose to upgrade.
What does the trial include? +
Full Host-tier access for 14 days: unlimited quiz nights, up to 100 players per event, custom branding, team mode, CSV import, and email support. Same as the paid Host plan.
What happens after the trial? +
Nothing automatic. Your account drops to the free Starter plan. You keep your account, your quizzes, and your questions — only the Host-only features (custom branding, big-event mode, CSV import) become unavailable until you upgrade.
How much does the Host plan cost? +
$29 per month, billed monthly. There's no annual contract, no setup fee, no per-event charge. Cancel anytime.
What payment methods do you accept? +
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, SEPA Direct Debit (EU only), Apple Pay, Google Pay. All processed by Mollie, our payment provider.
Are there taxes on top? +
Prices on the site are net. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout based on your billing country (handled automatically by Mollie). For US business customers, no VAT applies.
Do you store my credit card? +
No. Card data is entered directly on Mollie's servers — we never see it. Mollie returns a secure tokenized reference, which is what we use to charge subsequent renewals.
When am I billed? +
On the day you upgrade. Then once a month on the same day, until you cancel. The first month is the 14-day trial — no charge there.
How do I cancel? +
Go to Account → Subscription → Cancel, or email rezeption@quiztreff.de. Cancellation is one click, no "are you sure" runaround.
What happens when I cancel? +
You keep Host access through the end of your current paid month. After that, you drop to free Starter — your account stays, no data lost, you can re-activate anytime.
Do you offer refunds? +
No partial refunds for unused days within a paid month. But if something didn't work for you, email us and we'll sort it out fairly. We don't pick fights over edge cases.
Can I get an invoice? +
Yes. Every payment generates a PDF invoice automatically. Find them all at Account → Invoices. EU VAT-ID supported — add it under Account → Billing for proper EU B2B invoices.
What about teams of hosts at one venue? +
Currently, one Host account per venue. Multi-host (shared content library, role-based access) is on the roadmap. If you need it now, email us — we can sometimes set it up manually.
I need more than 100 players. What do I do? +
Email rezeption@quiztreff.de. Hotels, conferences and big venues with 200+ player events run on Quizlix regularly — we just don't have a self-serve plan for it yet.
Can I switch from monthly to a different plan later? +
Right now there's only Starter (free) and Host ($29/mo). When more plans are added, switching will be one click in your account.
What currency are prices in? +
Pricing on the US/EN site is in USD. EU customers may be charged in EUR by Mollie at the equivalent rate; check the Mollie checkout page for the exact amount in your local currency.
